At CES 2025 in Las Vegas, Samsung brought to life its vision of a future where smart technology expands beyond the home — reshaping industries and enriching daily experiences. Through SmartThings Pro, SmartThings for Cars and SmartThings for Ships, the company highlighted the transformative potential of AI across diverse domains.

SmartThings Pro: Reimagining Smart Spaces With AI
The SmartThings Pro zone showcased Samsung’s AI B2B solutions designed to enhance various settings including hotels, offices, and residential and commercial buildings. Highlights included AI-powered solutions that optimize spaces for operational efficiency and personalized services for community residents.
AI Residence: Advancing Future-Ready Solutions for Community Spaces
The AI Residence section introduced AI-based solutions designed to enhance community and residential space management. Visitors experienced firsthand the company’s selection of integrated systems that monitor residents’ health, manage energy use and provide real-time safety updates. Interactive demonstrations also highlighted how smart technologies are improving the management of both public and private spaces.
AI Store: Transforming Retail With Smarter Solutions
The AI Store section presented the company’s latest retail technologies designed to transform multi-store operations. Through Samsung’s Visual eXperience Transformation (VXT) platform and Samsung Knox, visitors explored how retail workflows are streamlined through features like real-time inventory management and automated product price updates.
AI Office: Balancing Productivity and Sustainability
The AI Office section showcased the future of workplaces powered by smart technologies to maximize productivity and efficiency. Visitors had the opportunity to try out face recognition solutions for employee identification and SmartThings-connected devices that automatically adjust meeting room environments.
AI Stay: Providing Customized Accommodation Spaces
The AI Stay section displayed smart hotel solutions of the future. Features included smartphone-based check-ins, personalized settings and Good Night mode — creating a comfortable, home-like environment even while traveling.
SmartThings for Cars: Bridging Home and Car With Smart Connectivity
At the SmartThings for Cars zone, visitors were introduced to new possibilities in mobility — featuring technologies that connect vehicles and homes through the SmartThings app. Solutions like energy optimization, efficient EV charging and remote vehicle controls optimize convenience and bring homes and cars closer together.
SmartThings Energy: Promoting a New Era of Sustainable Energy Solutions
The SmartThings Energy section presented sustainable living technologies including solar panel integration, EV-based emergency power supplies and 3D Map View for real-time energy monitoring. Visitors learned how solar panels and electric vehicles can work together to generate self-sufficient energy, with EV batteries serving as backup power during outages. They also saw firsthand how 3D Map View offers a comprehensive overview of home energy consumption and explored AI-powered energy-saving modes that optimize backup battery usage.
“As someone active on social media, I want to spread the word that Samsung SmartThings offers practical solutions for energy savings and connectivity,” said Erick “Alexander” Vargas, an attendee from Mexico. “I’m excited to share with my followers how Samsung is leading the way with its AI technologies.”
SmartThings Find: Offering Easy Location Tracking for Parked Cars
SmartThings Find stood out for its highly practical application and everyday convenience, enabling users to effortlessly locate their vehicles in sprawling parking lots with their Galaxy devices. Other highlights from this part of the exhibit included SmartThings-enabled features such as remote vehicle control, which can adjust the climate, as well as lock and unlock doors.
SmartThings for Ships: Harnessing Smart Technology at Sea
The SmartThings for Ships zone demonstrated how smart technology is revolutionizing marine vessels, introducing forward-thinking technologies such as autonomous navigation systems like SHIFT-AUTO and integrated smart solutions that maximize operational efficiency and safety in maritime settings.
Visitors to Samsung’s booth had the chance to explore these advancements through an immersive simulation. This hands-on experience included monitoring vessel systems, setting voyage routes and controlling onboard systems.
“The Smart Ship interactive simulation was incredibly impressive,” said Reshmee Semmen, an attendee from South Africa who expressed enthusiasm for Samsung’s promising potential in AI. “I’m excited to see how Samsung, with its long history, will continue to expand AI into so many fields.”
Smart technology is also making journeys at sea safer and more convenient for ship passengers. At the booth, visitors observed SmartThings-enabled technologies for managing essential ship and vessel systems including pre-departure device checks and five scenario-based modes (Departure, Boarding, Notifications, Care Mode, Protection Mode).
Society: Creating a Better World for Generations to Come
Located on the other side of Samsung’s booth, the Society zone emphasized the “social” pillar of the company’s environmental, social and governance (ESG) initiatives. This area spotlighted technologies designed to enhance accessibility, along with global education programs like Solve for Tomorrow and Samsung Innovation Campus.
Samsung introduced a range of solutions that enhance accessibility for all users. Visitors got the chance to experience how AI and Bixby are breaking down barriers in everyday life, enabling effortless control of home appliances and device troubleshooting through voice command capabilities.
Other highlights included AI-based text-to-speech audio subtitles — a feature that converts on-screen subtitles into speech, providing visually impaired users with access to global content — and sync accessibility settings capabilities to ensure a smooth user experience by automatically applying existing accessibility settings to new devices.
At CES 2025, Samsung showcased the versatility of AI technology beyond the home, illustrating its potential to transform diverse industries and spaces. By expanding the intersection of technology and daily life, Samsung aims to take significant strides toward a sustainable future — one that transcends the boundaries of the smart home to encompass every facet of modern life and industries.
